Photodruggability
As proposed in: Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2016, 55, 10978–10999
As opposed to classical druggability: Nat. Rev. Drug Discovery 2007, 6, 187
The concept of photodruggability includes pharmaceutical druggability, but further restricts it with the following criteria:
1. Responsiveness to Structural Change: Light-induced changes in photo-drug structure should be lead to different bio-activities.
2. Localization: targets should relate to spatially confined diseases (local inflammation, localized infections and tumors)
3. Light-accessibility : How facile is the target reached by light?
