Optogenetics

 

 

 

Optogenetics makes use of genetic engineering, where naturally light-responsive rhodopsins are used to render non-light-responsive neurons photo-controllable.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

 

 

The so-called photodynamic therapy makes use of photosensitizers that convert 3O2 to 1O2 that damages local tissue.
